Community Relations
Sunrock believes in being an active corporate citizen in the North Carolina communities in which it operates. This is achieved in part through our involvement with local schools, non-profits, chambers of commerce, business expos and general civic events.
Some of the organizations we support include:
-
Granville County United Way - Granville Education Fund
- Granville County Habitat for Humanity
- ACIM (Area Congregations in Ministry)
- North Carolina Business Committee for Education
- Kerr-Tar Council of Governments
- Triangle North Project of the Kerr-Tar Economic Development Corporation
- Local Kiwanis Clubs
- Local Chambers of Commerce
- Butner and Henderson Christmas Parades
Our business is very local; we believe in giving back to our local communities because it is simply the right thing to do. With that in mind, Sunrock has donated materials, resources and manpower to several community projects.
Recent community projects
Recently, the Sunrock team participated in the Granville County United Way’s annual drive. We’re honored to have won the “Employee Spirit Award” for our commitment to the campaign.
Another recent project included donating concrete to Granville County’s ACIM, a nonprofit committed to helping those in need, as the organization moved into its new building. Shortly thereafter, members of Sunrock teamed up with employees of Flextronics to donate material and manpower to ACIM through the Granville County United Way Day of Caring.
Other recent examples of our support for local communities through donation of materials, resources, or manpower include:
- Butner Athletic Park
- Granville Athletic Park
- Vance Granville Community College Scholarship
- Granville County Habitat for Humanity
- Camp Oak Hill
- Granville County United Way Day of Caring
- Vance-Granville Business Expo
- Wake Forest Business Expo
Supporting local schools
We also recognize the importance of supporting local school programs. From time to time Sunrock representatives will speak at a local school’s Career Day event or give quarry education presentations to students.
