The safety and well-being of our employees, partners and customers is an important part of the culture at Sunrock. Providing safe facilities and equipment is an absolute must. We achieve a safe and healthy workplace by training employees in various health and safety standards, first aid and specialized tasks and equipment as well as by maintaining our facilities and equipment in peak operating condition.

Striving to exceed safety standards

Sunrock strives daily to exceed federal and North Carolina safety and health compliance standards. We do this through annual safety initiatives such as our 100% seat belt use initiative and personal protective equipment requirements. Our Golden Boulder safety incentive encourages team building and employee participation in our safety program.

We also provide leadership training to ensure that all managers understand the importance of their role as a leader in our safety culture. The Sunrock team conducts regular inspections of our facilities and equipment to eliminate hazards in the workplace.

Safety achievement awards

Over the years, Sunrock has been recognized with numerous safety achievement awards from the North Carolina Department of Labor, Mine Safety and Health Administration, Carolinas Ready Mixed Concrete Association, National Ready Mixed Association and the National Stone Sand and Gravel Association.

Sunrock concrete delivery professionals have also won first place in the Carolinas Ready Mixed Concrete Association Annual Mixer Driver Championship twice and The Carolinas Ready Mixed Concrete Association has recognized three Sunrock concrete delivery professionals as Driver of the Year. Both of these achievements include safety in their award criteria.
